EGDA is extensively used as a solvent and co-solvent in coatings, paints, printing inks, varnishes, adhesives, sealants, and leather finishing systems. Chemically, it is composed of ethylene glycol esterified with acetic acid, providing strong solvency for resins such as nitrocellulose, acrylics, polyurethanes, epoxies, and alkyds. Key technical properties include a moderate boiling point, good flash point, low viscosity, high solvency strength, and excellent miscibility with most organic solvents. EGDA improves flow, leveling, gloss, and adhesion while supporting uniform film formation in both solvent-based and selected water-borne systems.

Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Hot Melt Adhesives

The composition of the adhesive will directly influence its properties. Because they can be specifically formulated for various applications, there are several kinds available on the market.

Ethylene promotes adhesion to non-polar substrates such as polyethylene, and provides mechanical strength, block resistance, and paraffin solubility. Vinyl acetate, on the other hand, promotes adhesion to polar substrates such as paper, and provides flexibility, adhesion, and better low-temperature performance.

EVA adhesives bond to the broadest range of substrates, function in one of the widest temperature range for hot melt adhesives, and they are very affordable. EVA hot melt adhesives generally require an application, or melting temperature of 350 degrees F, and have a wide viscosity range of between 900-3,000 cPs. EVA adhesives can function in temperatures as low as -40 degrees F and as high as 160 degrees F, depending on the formulation.

Expanded Polystyrene

Generally, strength characteristics increase with density and EPS offers exceptional dimensional stability. It remains virtually unaffected by a wide range of ambient factors. The dielectric strength of EPS is approximately 2KV/mm so Molded EPS can be treated with antistatic agents to comply with electronic industry and military packaging specifications. EPS cell walls are waterproof, water can only penetrate the foam through the tiny channels between the fused beads, meanwhile EPS is chemical resistant  , aging and weathering resistant  , and considering all of EPS specifications then it can be sued in building and construction , food packaging , industrial packaging  that are main applications. Other Applications – EPS can be molded into any shape. For example, sports helmets, infant car seats, chairs, seating in sports cars, and load bearing structurally insulated panels.
