Alkyd Sealer

Alkyd Sealers are available in short-oil, medium-oil, and long-oil alkyd types, as well as air-drying and modified alkyd systems to enhance drying speed and hardness. Typical applications include wood and MDF panels, metal surfaces, structural steel, concrete substrates, doors, furniture, and general industrial maintenance painting. The main ingredients of alkyd sealers consist of alkyd resins, organic solvents, drying oils, driers (cobalt, calcium, zirconium), and flow and leveling additives. Key advantages include good adhesion, excellent wetting of porous surfaces, easy brush, roller, or spray application, smooth film formation, and compatibility with alkyd, synthetic enamel, and certain polyurethane topcoats.

From a performance perspective, alkyd sealers offer moderate corrosion protection, good penetration into wood and concrete, uniform surface sealing, and acceptable durability in low to medium exposure environments. They are valued for their user-friendly application and economic cost in large-area coating projects. Commercially, alkyd sealers are supplied in various industrial packaging formats, including 1–5 kg cans, 10–12 kg metal buckets, 20–25 kg pails, and 200 kg drums for bulk users. These characteristics make alkyd sealers a practical and widely accepted solution for customers seeking efficient and affordable sealing systems.
