Aluminum Sulfate

Aluminum Sulfate, commonly known as alum, is a highly efficient inorganic chemical widely used across water treatment, paper manufacturing, construction, and industrial processing sectors. Thanks to its excellent coagulation and pH-adjusting properties, Aluminum Sulfate plays a vital role in improving process efficiency and product quality. It is valued for its reliability, consistent performance, and compatibility with a wide range of industrial systems, making it a core raw material for many commercial applications. Commercially, Aluminum Sulfate is available in solid and liquid forms with different purity levels and Al₂O₃ percentages, typically ranging from 7% to 17% for liquid grades and 14% to 18% Al₂O₃ for solid grades.

The product is supplied as white to off-white crystals, granules, powder, or clear liquid solutions, formulated mainly from aluminum hydroxide and sulfuric acid. Its primary applications include potable and wastewater treatment as a flocculant, paper sizing and pulp processing, textile dye fixing, concrete acceleration, soil conditioning, and certain food and pharmaceutical auxiliary processes (industrial grades only). Key technical features include fast solubility, controlled iron content, low insoluble matter, stable pH control, and excellent sedimentation behavior.

Aluminum Sulfate is offered in various commercial packages to suit different operational needs, including 25 kg and 50 kg woven bags, big bags (500–1000 kg), drums, IBC tanks, and bulk tanker deliveries for liquid grades. Customized specifications such as low-iron, iron-free, or food-grade compliant variants are also available upon request. With proven performance, scalable supply options, and compliance with international quality standards, Aluminum Sulfate remains a cost-effective and dependable solution for industries seeking consistent chemical performance and optimized process control.

FAQ Aluminum Sulfate

Aluminum Sulfate is mainly used as a coagulant in drinking-water and wastewater treatment, and is also used in paper and pulp processing, textile processing, and various industrial chemical applications.
The chemical formula is Al₂(SO₄)₃ and the commonly referenced CAS number is 10043-01-3.
Aluminum Sulfate is commercially available mainly as powder, crystalline, granular, and liquid solution forms, with the appropriate form selected according to dosing equipment and end-use requirements.
Grades can differ in Al₂O₃ concentration, iron content, insoluble matter, moisture, particle size, purity, and other parameters, so water-treatment, paper, textile, and general industrial users may require different specifications.
Dry solid Aluminum Sulfate should be kept in a cool, dry and well-ventilated storage area and protected from excessive moisture to minimize caking and maintain good handling properties.
You can contact Irancorps to identify and communicate with suitable Iranian manufacturers or exporters of Aluminum Sulfate according to the required grade, specification, quantity, packaging, and destination market.
