Vinyl Primer

Vinyl Primers are fast-drying protective coatings formulated based on vinyl resins, designed to provide excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance on steel and metal substrates. They are widely used in industrial, marine, and maintenance coating systems where rapid turnaround time and good chemical resistance are required.

Vinyl Primers are available in single-pack and two-component systems, with zinc-containing and non-zinc grades depending on the level of corrosion protection needed. Common applications include steel structures, ship hulls, marine equipment, pipelines, storage tanks, bridges, industrial machinery, and offshore installations. Key advantages include very fast drying, strong adhesion to properly prepared surfaces, good resistance to moisture, salts, oils, and chemicals, and compatibility with vinyl, epoxy, chlorinated rubber, and polyurethane topcoats. Typical properties include low film thickness, smooth film formation, good flexibility, and suitability for use in medium to high corrosive environments.

Vinyl Primers can be applied by airless spray, conventional spray, brush, or roller, making them suitable for both shop and site applications. They are supplied in standard industrial packaging such as 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 12 kg, and 20 kg metal pails, as well as 200 kg drums for large-scale industrial projects. Vinyl Primers are widely specified in marine, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects due to their fast curing, reliable protection, and compliance with common international coating standards.
