Oleic Acid
Oleic acid with the formula CH3 (CH2)7CH=CH (CH2)7COOH is a mono-unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid found in various animal and vegetable sources. Triglyceride esters of oleic acid comprise the majority of olive oil. It is basically an odourless and colourless oil, although some commercial samples may be yellowish.
