An Aluminum Alloy is a composition consisting mainly of aluminum to which other elements have been added, including iron, copper, magnesium, silicon, and zinc. Aluminium alloy 2024 has a density of 2.78 g/cm3 electrical conductivity of 30% IACS, Young’s modulus of 73 GPa across all tempers, and begins to melt at 500 °C .

Aluminum alloy 2024 is widely used in applications demanding high strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue resistance, particularly in the aerospace and automotive industries. It’s a popular choice for aircraft structures like wings and fuselages, as well as for high-stress components in vehicles such as truck wheels and engine parts. Beyond these, it also finds use in various hardware, gears, and even cosmetic applications due to its ability to be polished to a good finish.
